4a351ab7fe Update a number of dependencies (#2594)
This commit goes through the dependencies that wasmtime has and updates
versions where possible. This notably brings in a wasmparser/wast update
which has some simd spec changes with new instructions. Otherwise most
of these are just routine updates.

703762c49e Update support for the module linking proposal
This commit updates the various tooling used by wasmtime which has new
updates to the module linking proposal. This is done primarily to sync
with WebAssembly/module-linking#26. The main change implemented here is
that wasmtime now supports creating instances from a set of values, nott
just from instantiating a module. Additionally subtyping handling of
modules with respect to imports is now properly handled by desugaring
two-level imports to imports of instances.

A number of small refactorings are included here as well, but most of
them are in accordance with the changes to `wasmparser` and the updated
binary format for module linking.

25000afe69 Enable fuzzing the module linking implementation
This commit updates all the wasm-tools crates that we use and enables
fuzzing of the module linking proposal in our various fuzz targets. This
also refactors some of the dummy value generation logic to not be
fallible and to always succeed, the thinking being that we don't want to
accidentally hide errors while fuzzing. Additionally instantiation is
only allowed to fail with a `Trap`, other failure reasons are unwrapped.

f7cf771ee6 souper-harvest: Do not generate assignments of constants
It turns out that Souper does not allow a constant to be assigned to a variable,
they may only be used as operands. The 2.0.0 version of the `souper-ir` crate
correctly reflects this. In the `cranelift_codegen::souper_harvest` module, we
need to modify our Souper IR harvester so that it delays converting `iconst` and
`bconst` into Souper IR until their values are used as operands. Finally, some
unit tests in the `peepmatic-souper` crate need some small updates as well.

f003388ec7 Implement imported/exported modules/instances (#2461)
* Implement imported/exported modules/instances

This commit implements the final piece of the module linking proposal
which is to flesh out the support for importing/exporting instances and
modules. This ended up having a few changes:

* Two more `PrimaryMap` instances are now stored in an `Instance`. The value
  for instances is `InstanceHandle` (pretty easy) and for modules it's
  `Box<dyn Any>` (less easy).

* The custom host state for `InstanceHandle` for `wasmtime` is now
  `Arc<TypeTables` to be able to fully reconstruct an instance's types
  just from its instance.

* Type matching for imports now has been updated to take
  instances/modules into account.

One of the main downsides of this implementation is that type matching
of imports is duplicated between wasmparser and wasmtime, leading to
posssible bugs especially in the subtelties of module linking. I'm not
sure how best to unify these two pieces of validation, however, and it
may be more trouble than it's worth.

5a5fb11979 CL/aarch64: implement the wasm SIMD i32x4.dot_i16x8_s instruction
This patch implements, for aarch64, the following wasm SIMD extensions

  i32x4.dot_i16x8_s instruction
  https://github.com/WebAssembly/simd/pull/127

It also updates dependencies as follows, in order that the new instruction can
be parsed, decoded, etc:

  wat          to  1.0.27
  wast         to  26.0.1
  wasmparser   to  0.65.0
  wasmprinter  to  0.2.12

The changes are straightforward:

* new CLIF instruction `widening_pairwise_dot_product_s`

* translation from wasm into `widening_pairwise_dot_product_s`

* new AArch64 instructions `smull`, `smull2` (part of the `VecRRR` group)

* translation from `widening_pairwise_dot_product_s` to `smull ; smull2 ; addv`

There is no testcase in this commit, because that is a separate repo. The
implementation has been tested, nevertheless.

c015d69eb8 peepmatic: Do not use paths in linear IR
Rather than using paths from the root instruction to the instruction we are
matching against or checking if it is constant or whatever, use temporary
variables. When we successfully match an instruction's opcode, we simultaneously
define these temporaries for the instruction's operands. This is similar to how
open-coding these matches in Rust would use `match` expressions with pattern
matching to bind the operands to variables at the same time.

This saves about 1.8% of instructions retired when Peepmatic is enabled.

447c3e71a6 peepmatic: Simplify linear IR
This commit splits "increments" in two; they previously contained both the
linearized left- and right-hand sides. But only the first increment ever had any
actions, so it was confusing (and space wasting) that all increments had an
"actions" vector. No more!

This commit separates the linearized left-hand side ("matches") from the
linearized right-hand side ("actions").

3f0d789830 peepmatic: Remove semi-outdated note from README
While the goal is definitely still Cranelift focused, (a) this should be obvious
based on the fact that this is nested under the `cranelift/` directory, and (b)
Peepmatic *is* now generic over the IR it is optimizing, so it could potentially
be used on (say) rustc's MIR now.

091de9449a Convert Souper optimizations into Peepmatic DSL
Conversion from Souper into Peepmatic is implemented with a straightforward,
top-down recursive traversal of the optimization's left- and right-hand side
expression DAGs. Most Souper instructions have a corresponding Peepmatic
instruction. If we run into an instruction where that isn't the case, we skip
that Souper optimization and move on to the next one.

Note that Souper fully supports DAGs, for example:

```text
%0 = var
%1 = add 1, %0
%2 = add %1, %1       ;; Two edges to `%1` makes this a DAG.
```

On the other hand, Peepmatic only currently supports trees, so shared
subexpressions are duplicated:

```text
(iadd (iadd 1 $x)
      (iadd 1 $x))    ;; The shared subexpression is duplicated.
```

This does not affect correctness.

ee5982fd16 peepmatic: Be generic over the operator type
This lets us avoid the cost of `cranelift_codegen::ir::Opcode` to
`peepmatic_runtime::Operator` conversion overhead, and paves the way for
allowing Peepmatic to support non-clif optimizations (e.g. vcode optimizations).

Rather than defining our own `peepmatic::Operator` type like we used to, now the
whole `peepmatic` crate is effectively generic over a `TOperator` type
parameter. For the Cranelift integration, we use `cranelift_codegen::ir::Opcode`
as the concrete type for our `TOperator` type parameter. For testing, we also
define a `TestOperator` type, so that we can test Peepmatic code without
building all of Cranelift, and we can keep them somewhat isolated from each
other.

The methods that `peepmatic::Operator` had are now translated into trait bounds
on the `TOperator` type. These traits need to be shared between all of
`peepmatic`, `peepmatic-runtime`, and `cranelift-codegen`'s Peepmatic
integration. Therefore, these new traits live in a new crate:
`peepmatic-traits`. This crate acts as a header file of sorts for shared
trait/type/macro definitions.

Additionally, the `peepmatic-runtime` crate no longer depends on the
`peepmatic-macro` procedural macro crate, which should lead to faster build
times for Cranelift when it is using pre-built peephole optimizers.
